As part of Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz 2017, June 5-9, professional homebuilders and suppliers will provide the labor, funding and materials to help more than 200 families across the U.S. build strength, stability and self-reliance through shelter.

“Habitat for Humanity’s Home Builders Blitz is truly a testament to the willingness of local builders to invest in their communities,” said Jonathan Reckford, CEO of Habitat for Humanity International.  “Since 2002, professional builders have partnered with families to create positive ripple effects in neighborhoods and make everyday moments more meaningful.  We are so grateful for their support.”

In Sanford, Habitat for Humanity of Seminole-Apopka and professional homebuilders will help a single mom and her children build a safe place they can call home. The property at 1804 William Clark Avenue in Sanford was donated by Bank of America and the previous structure demolished by the City of Sanford.

Rob Smith, President of E2 Homes, helps to raise a wall during the opening ceremony of Home Builders Blitz 2015. His company joins Habitat Seminole-Apopka again this year to complete a home in Sanford during Home Builders Blitz.

Led by Wharton-Smith, Inc. and E2 Homes, professional contractors will complete the home in one week. “We struggle as a community to take care of families in need,” said Tim Smith of Wharton-Smith, Inc.  “It’s about independence and a lot of families, given their situations, don’t know how to get that. We at Wharton-Smith feel blessed to be in a position to help create that change.”

We're so grateful for our building partners this year and hope you'll join us as we celebrate this fast-paced and exciting event!
