Ability to Pay: Income Requirements

Habitat homes are not given away. The homes are sold to qualified homebuyers with a no-profit mortgage.

The family or individual applying must demonstrate steady income and meet credit requirements.

  • Income is calculated based on gross income (before taxes are removed).
  • Income sources must be verifiable and reliable.

  • Employment Income (must include 6-month history)
  • Disability Income
  • Child Support
  • Alimony
  • Social Security
  • SSI
  • Pension
  • Retirement
  • Self-Employment (3 year history requirement, provide a 3-year Tax Return and P&L statement)
