Priscila is both a dedicated medical assistant and single mother. She finds daily fulfillment in her role at a local Physician Care Center and in looking after her 12- and 4-year-old sons. Priscila says she chose to move to Orlando \u201cin hopes of providing a better life for my children,\u201d and she is excited to be reaching her dream of permanent homeownership through the Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka Homebuyer Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After relocating to Central Florida from New York five years ago, Priscila and her sons have lived in an income restricted apartment where her rent has recently increased by several hundreds of dollars, becoming unaffordable. The conditions of the apartment and surrounding property have been neglected by the building management, making it an unfit place to live. Priscila and her sons have had to overcome broken and inoperable windows and doors, structural water damage, pest infestations, and mold issues. Additionally, the small apartment is challenging to live in with two growing boys, making Priscila even more determined to work towards a forever home for her family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priscila learned about Habitat Seminole-Apopka\u2019s program through a previous Habitat homebuyer who spoke highly of their experience. After conducting her own research, she decided to apply for a chance at a better future for her family. When Priscila received the news that she and her family had been accepted into the Habitat Homebuyer Program, she felt \u201cgrateful, fortunate, and relieved\u201d at the possibilities of safety and stability that lied ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Priscila is looking forward to the days when her sons can play video games, color, and play with toys in their own space. She also hopes to be able to explore her artistic passion for painting and making music in her own home. She is excited for her family to build lasting memories in this new forever home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
