{"id":4509,"date":"2026-05-20T09:56:59","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T13:56:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/habitatseminoleapopka.org\/?post_type=homebuyer-story&#038;p=4509"},"modified":"2026-05-20T09:57:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T13:57:00","slug":"jacques","status":"publish","type":"homebuyer-story","link":"https:\/\/habitatseminoleapopka.org\/es\/homebuyer-story\/jacques\/","title":{"rendered":"Jacques"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After watching her sister,&nbsp;Habitat Homeowner&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/habitatseminoleapopka.org\/es\/historia-de-comprador-de-vivienda\/jameca-laster\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Jamaica<\/a>,&nbsp;successfully&nbsp;complete&nbsp;her homebuying journey&nbsp;through Habitat Seminole-Apopka&#8217;s program, Jacques realized it was time&nbsp;to pursue homeownership for herself.&nbsp;As a single mother raising two daughters, with one in college and the other still in public school, Jacques is determined to provide a stable and secure home for her family.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">During her sister Jameca\u2019s time in the Habitat Homebuyer Program, she and her child&nbsp;lived with Jacques to help&nbsp;save&nbsp;for&nbsp;their future&nbsp;home.&nbsp;Now,&nbsp;more than&nbsp;a year later, Jacques and&nbsp;her youngest daughter are&nbsp;living&nbsp;with Jameca&nbsp;in her Habitat home&nbsp;while Jacques&nbsp;works toward completing&nbsp;the&nbsp;same program.&nbsp;Although&nbsp;Jacques is grateful for her sister\u2019s&nbsp;support,&nbsp;sharing a home&nbsp;has created&nbsp;overcrowded&nbsp;living&nbsp;conditions. For&nbsp;example, the&nbsp;children&nbsp;share a&nbsp;bedroom, and Jacques, who works remotely, often struggles to find a quiet space to focus.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When&nbsp;Jacques&nbsp;learned she had been&nbsp;accepted into the Habitat program, she&nbsp;experienced a sense of relief, sharing,&nbsp;\u201cit felt like more security.\u201d&nbsp;She and her daughter especially look forward to having a home of their own, where they can cook together in their own kitchen, creating lasting memories and&nbsp;decorating&nbsp;a space that truly feels like theirs.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jacques is currently working with&nbsp;one of&nbsp;Habitat\u2019s&nbsp;housing&nbsp;counselors&nbsp;and&nbsp;participating&nbsp;in&nbsp;Habitat\u2019s Financial Academy to&nbsp;strengthen her financial stability.
