Warehouse Manager – A Volunteer Position

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all warehouse activities, including creating an initial inventory of tools and supplies, receiving and storing materials.
  • Manage inventory levels, conduct regular cycle counts, and reconcile discrepancies to ensure accuracy.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols and procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Develop and train volunteer warehouse assistants, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and teamwork.
  • Monitor and improve warehouse layout, organization, and workflow for optimal efficiency.
  • Oversee the maintenance and proper use of warehouse equipment and vehicles including trailers and their content.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to shipments, inventory, and compliance requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and federal, state, and local regulations.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills; familiarity with inventory systems a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in warehouse operations.

Working Conditions

  • Warehouse environment with frequent standing, walking, lifting, and carrying.
  • Exposure to varying temperatures.

Each individual we have a connection to is a potential donor or volunteer and can be presented with engagement opportunities such as store donations, monetary gifts, and volunteer time.
