Five First-Time Homebuyers Purchase Habitat Homes

On Friday, August 29, 2025, five Central Florida residents closed on their new homes in Sanford. In attendance was the CEO of Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka, accompanied by representatives from Habitat, First Horizon Bank, and Seminole County Government, each there to support and oversee the closings for the first-time homebuyers. After months of hard work saving money and completing over a dozen first-time homeownership courses, these five individuals are now well-informed and empowered first-time homeowners. Despite each of the homebuyers making under 80% of the Area Median Income in Central Florida, through hard work, dedication, and a helping hand, they have become successful homeowners.

This day was filled with plenty of signed documents and smiling faces as each of the five individuals walked in ready to receive the keys to their new homes. Most of the homebuyers were accompanied by friends and family who supported them throughout their journey. Victor was excited to grill for the first time at his new home, and Brayahna was overjoyed to have a house to call her own. Lacie could not wait to finally move in and celebrate her daughter’s third birthday, while Betzaida and Jaylon were thrilled to settle in and show their kids their new homes. Each of the five new homeowners were ecstatic about finally closing on their beautiful new houses, just in time for Labor Day weekend.
