Builders FirstSource has made a $130,000 contribution to Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka to help make affordable homeownership a reality for Central Florida families. Builders FirstSource is the nation’s largest supplier of building products and services to the professional market for new residential construction. The donation was facilitated through Florida’s Community Contribution Tax Credit Program, which encourages Florida businesses to contribute towards community development and affordable housing projects.
In addition to their financial contribution, Builders FirstSource (BFS) partnered with Habitat Seminole-Apopka to build a home at one of Habitat’s active build sites throughout Central Florida. The volunteer day coincided with the 2026 NAHB International Builders’ Show taking place in Orlando, bringing BFS leaders to the region and creating an opportunity for hands-on community engagement. On February 19, members of the local BFS team and their executive leadership volunteered alongside Habitat staff and future homeowners, successfully laying 10 palettes (4,000 square feet) of sod, helping to bring the home to life.

“At Builders FirstSource, our commitment to people and safety extends beyond the workplace,” said Todd Vance, BFS East Division President. “We share Habitat for Humanity’s aspiration for everyone to have a safe place to live, and it’s an honor to work alongside the Habitat Seminole-Apopka team in building this home for a hardworking, Central Florida family.”
Penny Seater, CEO of Habitat Seminole-Apopka, emphasized the importance of corporate partnerships in advancing Habitat’s mission: “Builders FirstSource’s generosity, both through their financial support and their willingness to show up and build alongside us, demonstrates what’s possible when mission-driven organizations and industry leaders work together.”
