I love that at Habitat you never know who you may meet- you are able to connect with so many different kinds of people. No matter where each of us comes from we all come together to build a better world, one nail at a time.
I have had more Saturday mornings at a Habitat construction site than I can count! But I will always have fond memories of my first day leading a volunteer group as an AmeriCorps member. I have been swinging a hammer on build sites throughout high school and college, so that day I greeted old friends, and welcomed new volunteers. Together we tore down an old shed and completed the landscaping on a remodel for a future homebuyer that I had really gotten to know over the past year. This memory is special, because that is the day where my past experiences came together to show me my future – a future as a staff member at Habitat for Humanity.
Personal Space: In my free time, I enjoy spending time with family playing cards and other games. I love cooking and baking- pretzels are my specialty. I also have a basil plant by the window on my porch that I am heavily invested in.
