Throughout the month of March, teams from across Central Florida have united to fundraise and volunteer with Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka in support of women working in the construction industry. Participants compete in friendly fundraising challenges while also contributing volunteer hours on site.
Each team has been tasked with a goal of raising $4,000; however, many have already surpassed this, with Habitat’s top three teams raising over $100,000 combined, at present. Teams who meet or surpass the $4,000 goal are also invited to join Habitat for a build day, helping to further the mission of providing affordable housing to Central Florida families.
“Women Build is about more than construction, it’s about empowering people to come together and make a lasting difference for families in our community,” said Penny Seater, CEO of Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka. “Every team that participates helps bring another family closer to safe, stable homeownership.”
Each team is helping to strengthen the local communities, and their contributions will be recognized at the organization’s annual Habitat Achievement Awards Celebration on April 24, 2026. Their support comes at a time when the need for affordable housing continues to grow across Central Florida, making these community-driven efforts like Women Build especially impactful.
