Alexis is a determined single mother of four boys, three of whom are now grown and out on their own. She currently lives with her youngest son, a bright and energetic 15-year-old. Alexis works full-time in early childhood education and is known for her compassion and commitment to the families she serves.
For years, Alexis has done everything she can to provide a home for her son, even in the face of less-than-ideal housing conditions. Throughout it all, she never lost sight of her dream to create a safer, more stable environment for her family.
When she first applied to the Habitat for Humanity Homebuyer Program, Alexis wasn’t accepted. But she didn’t let that stop her. Instead, she enrolled in Habitat’s Financial Academy and began working with a housing counselor to strengthen her financial foundation. With hard work and determination, she raised her credit score by over 200 points and successfully met all program requirements.
Now, Alexis is preparing to become a Habitat homeowner. Her journey is a powerful example of resilience, personal growth, and the impact of having the right tools and support to reach your goals.
