Dakarai and Chynna are proud new parents to a baby boy and are excited to be on the path to homeownership through Habitat for Humanity. Dakarai has served as the lead strength coach at a sports performance center in Altamonte Springs for the past four years, while Chynna spends her days nurturing young children as a daycare teacher in Sanford.
Currently, the couple lives in an overcrowded and substandard studio apartment. The space not only lacks the room they need to grow as a family, but it also has persistent mold issues that are taking a toll on their health—especially their infant son’s.
Their dream is simple yet profound: to provide their child with a safe, clean, and spacious home—a place where he can thrive and where their family can build a stable foundation for the future.
Determined to make this dream a reality, they enrolled in and successfully completed our Financial Academy. They also worked closely with our housing counselor, Lori Rivera, to improve their credit scores and build their savings. Now, they are ready and eager to begin their sweat equity hours and continue saving toward their closing costs.
We are honored to walk alongside the Dakarai and Chynna on their journey to homeownership and a brighter future.
