She joined Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka in 2011 as our Chief Operating Officer. Kelly has been a certified housing counselor for over 20 years and is a certified fundraiser.
Kelly began her career working as a Community Reinvestment Officer for a bank before becoming a loaned executive for Affordable Housing by Lake. She became the Executive Director of Affordable Housing by Lake soon after, which set the tone for her career. Kelly then transitioned to Habitat for Humanity in Lake Sumter where she led as the Development Director and Public Relations Director for five years before joining the Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka team.
Kelly is a member of Leadership Seminole, representing Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka within a high-level group of executive community leaders. Her passion for advocacy speaks to her desire to help others create safety and security in their lives, which is shown in her work campaigning for affordable housing programs to government representatives. For 13 years, she has advocated for affordable housing programs and funding through attending Habitat on the Hill in Washington, D.C., with fellow constituents. Kelly regularly travels to Florida’s Capitol, Tallahassee, to advocate for local initiatives, stemming from her experience with the State Housing Initiative Partnership Program, which provides funds to local governments with the intent to preserve affordable housing.
