Penny Seater has been the driving force behind Habitat for Humanity Seminole-Apopka’s efforts to strengthen affordable housing in Central Florida since joining the organization in July 2009.
Under Penny’s leadership, the organization has grown from 79 to over 250 homes, creating opportunities and transforming lives. During the fiscal year 2024-2025, her work has helped generate more than $17M economic impact through job creation, increased property values, building materials purchased, and tax revenues.
A respected leader in Central Florida who collaborates with businesses, nonprofits, and communities alike, Penny is renowned for her advocacy and leadership in affordable housing that has led to growth and revenue.
She effectively unites public and private sectors who invest in Habitat, confident in Penny’s expertise and proven success. Major investors like Wharton Smith, FINFROCK, and Seminole County support Habitat Seminole-Apopka due to their trusted relationship with her.
Prior to joining Habitat for Humanity, Penny Seater held leadership roles with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Florida AIDS Ride, the American Lung Association, and the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
Penny Seater has a BS in Psychology from the University of Maryland. She is also a graduate of Leadership Orlando, Leadership Seminole, and Leadership Apopka.
