FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Local CEOs and Business Leaders Unite on World Habitat Day to Build Homes and Champion Affordable Housing

MEDIA ADVISORY: Executive Build 2026

What

In a powerful show of leadership, 19 Central Florida executives will come together to advocate for affordable housing at Executive Build 2026. Executive Build is Habitat’s flagship fundraising event that takes place every year on World Habitat Day.

Participants will team up to install windows and Tyvek house wrap to prepare two homes for the next stage of construction.

This year’s cohort will work in Habitat’s vibrant newest community, Legacy Square in Sanford. Legacy Square will feature 19 single-family, energy-efficient homes developed in collaboration with other partners.

Why

Affordable housing remains one of the most critical challenges in Central Florida. Executive Build 2026 engages top executives to address the housing crisis, raise awareness, and lead by example in showing how partnerships across sectors can empower families to achieve the dream of homeownership.

This event offers a compelling opportunity for the media to capture business leaders in action, hear directly from community decision-makers, and report on a movement that directly impacts the economic and social fabric of Central Florida.

About Habitat for Humanity

As a Top 50 Habitat home producer nationwide, Habitat for Humanity serves Orange and Seminole Counties and is both builder and land developer. The organization has been creating generational stability by making homeownership possible across Central Florida for over 35 years. Through financial support, volunteer participation, and business partnerships, Habitat constructs and develops affordable homes that are sold to families with low-to-moderate incomes at no profit, and financed with modest mortgages. Homebuyers invest in their futures by completing financial education and helping to build their own homes as well as those of other families through earned “sweat equity” hours.
